Each page starts with a direct answer, follows with practical steps and ends with four checks plus links to the relevant items, maps or database pages.

01NAVIGATION & EXTRACTION

How to find an exit and avoid getting lost

Treat the entrance as your guaranteed reference, not the deepest point you reached.

02INVENTORY & LOOT

What loot should I keep when inventory space is tight?

Keep the item that advances this run’s goal; use value per cell only to break ties.

03DURABILITY & REPAIR

Why will a repair kit not work on my equipment?

Check compatible repair types and remaining uses. In Demo 1.0.10, repair supplies can restore compatible equipment to full durability.

04MAGIC & INCANTATIONS

How to Cast Spells in Expedition: Into Darkness

The tool and its gems provide schools; the direction sequence chooses the spell.

05LIGHT & VISIBILITY

Which light source should I bring into the dark?

Choose by slot, footprint and the way you plan to carry it; a rarer light is not automatically brighter.

06WEAPON ASSEMBLY

How do weapon parts, materials, swing and thrust work together?

One hit uses either its swing value or its thrust value; never add both together.

07SKELETON CONTROL

How do I stop skeletons from reviving?

A resolved silver melee hit disables revival on a reanimating skeleton; it does not need to be the killing blow.

08CAMP & CRAFTING

Why can’t I craft an item after building a facility?

A facility enables a place to craft; it does not guarantee that every recipe associated with that craft is already learned.

09SKILLS & BASE STATS

Which skills should I take, and do their bonuses work?

Choose a skill for a problem you can name; never plan around a node marked unavailable in the Demo.

10KEYS, DOORS & EXIT ITEMS

Where do keys go, and which exits need an item?

A key opens its marked door; it does not turn every nearby opening into an exit.

11FIRST SOLO EXPEDITION

What should I bring on a first solo run?

Bring one working weapon, healing, a usable light, enough bag space for the objective and a known way back.

12ARMOUR & BODY COVERAGE

Why can a rarer armour piece look weaker?

Rarity is not a universal armour score; compare the protection on the body area that can actually be hit.

Read the answer
13BLOCKING, PARRY & STAMINA

How should I read block, parry and stamina numbers?

A successful parry uses a 0.1× incoming-damage multiplier, but it is a momentary state, not permanent 90% armour.

14EQUIPMENT CONFIGURATION

How do I add a candle or another part to equipment?

Configure the base equipment at camp and fill a compatible empty slot with the matching part.

15WEAPON EFFECTS

Burning, electric, Blessed and other weapon effects explained

For damage over time, choose Red Oxide Copper or Amethyst Bronze. To stop skeleton revival, use a silver melee weapon.

16QUESTS & CONTACTS

How do I tell objectives, issued items and rewards apart?

Finding or receiving the named item is not the whole quest unless every listed objective is complete.

17ITEM SOURCES

Where can I find a missing crafting or quest item?

Open the item record and identify the source type before travelling to a location.

Read the answer
18MONSTER ATTACKS

How do I prepare for a monster that keeps killing me?

Identify the exact attack that caused the failure; a monster’s base damage alone is not a strategy.

19CURSED & SPECIAL MATERIALS

What does a Cursed weapon actually do?

Purple Gold adds the Cursed damage property, but the current bestiary has no Cursed-specific monster multiplier.

20TOOLS & INTERACTIONS

Do I need a shovel or pickaxe to dig, mine or breach?

Do not carry a tool only because its name matches the action; read the interaction prompt first.

21EXPEDITION LOOP

What should I do during an expedition, and when should I leave?

Choose one useful result for the run, reach it by a route you can retrace, then extract and place the gains in your camp stash.

Read the answer
22HEALING & PREPARATION

How do I restock healing supplies before an expedition?

Make basic Bandages at the Workbench from Linen Rags, or at the Alchemy Alcove from Hemp, Cotton or Wool Rags; plan advanced supplies only after their facility and ingredients are ready.

Read the answer
23ARCHERY & AMMUNITION

How do I build arrows, choose arrowheads and merge stacks?

Choose the finished arrow for its arrowhead and material result; stacks merge only when the arrows are the same finished item and configuration.

24PLIERS & CRAFTING

Where can I get Pliers, and how do I craft them?

There is no fixed Pliers spawn listed in the current item and map records. Search tool-bearing loot while doing another objective, then keep the first pair; after its recipe is available, craft one at the Ironworks from one Iron Ingot and four Tiny Rivets.

Read the answer
25BLUEPRINTS & RECYCLING

Should I recycle a whole weapon or its separate parts to learn blueprints?

Recycling an assembled weapon returns materials from its fitted parts, but the blueprint roll checks the selected item itself. To try learning a particular fitted component, dismantle the weapon and recycle that component separately.

Why are these questions included?

We reviewed Steam and Reddit discussions, official beginner material and public gameplay videos, then grouped the problems players repeatedly ran into. Every distinct question that this database can answer clearly is included; similar wording is combined into one useful guide instead of being repeated. There is no fixed quota. When another shared problem appears and the site has enough information to explain what the player can do, we will add it.
