DURABILITY & REPAIR
Why will a repair kit not work on my equipment?
Check the target’s repair type, current durability, repair ceiling and remaining uses before assuming the item is bugged.

QUICK ANSWER
Check compatible repair types and remaining uses. In Demo 1.0.10, repair supplies can restore compatible equipment to full durability.
Our item pages separate compatible item type, durability restored per use, maximum repair percentage and full charge capacity. The listed maximum durability of the kit itself is not the same as the target equipment’s current condition or the kit’s remaining uses.
WHAT TO DO
Match the repair supply to the equipment type
Repair supplies match repair types: Metal, Wood, Leather or Fabric. Officer’s Repair Kit accepts fabric; Tannery-Grade Repair Set accepts leather, fabric and wood; Armourer’s Patch Kit accepts metal, leather and fabric. Blackstone of Harrow’s Ford accepts all four. Check the repair type and durability of the part you want to repair; its name or appearance alone does not determine compatibility.
Parts of an assembled weapon may require different repair types. Inspect the part that needs repair and check in the repair screen whether it accepts the selected supply.
WHAT TO DO
Check the ceiling before spending a use
In Demo 1.0.10, repair supplies can restore compatible equipment to 100% durability. Chain-Link Repair Kit restores 10 points per use before other modifiers; Armourer’s Patch Kit, Officer’s Repair Kit, Tannery-Grade Repair Set and Blackstone restore 15.
These are durability points, not percentages. If compatible equipment has a maximum of 100 and is currently at 93, a 10-point repair restores only seven points and still consumes one use. Equipment already at full durability cannot be repaired.
WHAT TO DO
Separate full capacity from remaining uses
A full Chain-Link Repair Kit now has 6 uses. Armourer’s Patch Kit, Officer’s Repair Kit and Tannery-Grade Repair Set have 12 uses each; Blackstone has 18. Found or partly used supplies may have fewer uses remaining, so check the item in game.
Check the missing durability before spending a use. A supply that normally restores 15 points will restore only one or two if that is all the equipment is missing. Save supplies with broader repair-type compatibility for equipment your other kits cannot repair.
WHAT TO DO
Follow the exact repair recipe
The repair items have different facilities and ingredients. Chain-Link Repair Kit is listed at Blacksmithy with Pliers, Small Rings and Tiny Rivets. Armourer’s Patch Kit uses Armoursmithy. Tannery-Grade Repair Set uses Patchwork Parlour. Blackstone uses Blacksmithy and Workshop and is not unlocked by default.
Open the item page and choose one crafting method. Check its ingredients, tools and facilities separately, then confirm in the game that your camp has reached the required stage and your character has learned the recipe.
BEFORE THE NEXT RUN
Check these four things before you leave
- Match fabric, leather, metal or wood compatibility.
- Check whether current durability is below the ceiling.
- Check remaining uses, not only full capacity.
- Use the item page for the exact recipe and facility.
One last check before you leave
Check inventory counts, remaining durability, learned recipes, quest progress, random spawns and whether the intended route is open. Doing this before spending materials or setting off can save a wasted trip.
