FIRST EXPEDITION

Prepare for your first run in three steps

Use this checklist to finish your equipment check, choose one preparation goal, and recognize the landmarks you need. It is a starting route, not a best-build ranking.

QUICK ANSWER

Do not leave camp with empty equipment slots by accident.

The official Getting Started post tells new players to open Inventory from the Characters tab and equip weapons, healing items, and bags before heading out. Use the steps below to finish that check, then jump to the exact database page you need.

01

GEAR UP

Are your weapon, healing, and bag slots ready?

  1. Open Inventory from the Characters tab before you head out.
  2. Equip the weapons, healing items, and bags you plan to take; check the slot feedback before placing or swapping an item.
  3. Confirm the primary and secondary weapon slots, then check both the Equipment and Attire views for the full loadout.

Before leaving, check the current durability of this loadout and your healing items in game. A maximum durability value on this site is not the durability remaining on the item you hold.

02

CHECK WHAT YOU CARRY

What does this item do, and where is it used?

  1. Search by the item name, then use the available filters to narrow the list.
  2. For a craftable item, choose one crafting method and the output you want first. Do not add the materials from alternative methods together.
  3. Check that method’s materials separately from its tools and facilities. A missing value is unknown, not zero.

03

CHOOSE THE NEXT STOP

Are you preparing the camp or recognizing expedition landmarks?

  1. Choose one preparation goal: a camp facility or one upgrade page.
  2. Check off the material types on that page. If a quantity is not shown, read it from the recipe screen before collecting materials.
  3. Use the interactive map to recognize landmarks and ordered reference points. It does not promise a complete route.

ONE RUN, ONE PREPARATION GOAL

Turn the checklist into a plan you can verify

A first expedition is easier to prepare when you solve one small problem at a time. Do not try to perfect equipment, crafting, quests, every monster and the full route at once. Follow the steps below and stop preparing once you know the next useful action.

Write down the one thing that would make the run useful before choosing gear. A named goal gives you a reason to accept or reject each item instead of filling every slot from fear.

1

Choose the purpose

Decide whether the run is mainly for learning landmarks, finding one material type, progressing one quest, or testing a prepared loadout. This purpose decides which archive page deserves attention and which information can wait.

2

Check the minimum loadout

Choose a weapon, healing supplies, a bag and any other essentials. Item pages help you compare their basic numbers and uses; before leaving, check that you actually have them, that their durability and quantity are enough, and that each item fits the intended slot.

3

Follow one dependency

If preparation is blocked, follow the smallest useful dependency: one ingredient, one tool, one facility, one prerequisite quest, or one required item. Keep alternative crafting methods separate. A possible drop or container is a place to try, not a promise that the item will appear.

4

Use maps for recognition

Open the relevant map to recognize area names, doors, stairs and extraction requirements. A line between two related positions does not necessarily show a walkable path. Markers with an unknown floor or random location are labelled so you know to search the surrounding area.

5

Check the bag before leaving

Check quantities, durability, equipped items, learned recipes, facility stage and the current quest step. This catches the practical problems that matter most: the right item is missing, a weapon is nearly broken, or the required recipe or facility is not ready.

Where this checklist comes from

The gear-up steps above summarise Antediluvian Interactive’s official Getting Started post. The remaining suggestions point to the item, camp, map, and version information used while preparing.

This page connects that official equipment reminder with the item archive, recipes, character stats and maps. It is a preparation checklist, not a promise that one loadout is best or that every marked corridor will be open.
