QUICK ANSWER

Purple Gold adds the Cursed damage property, but the current bestiary has no Cursed-specific monster multiplier.

Cursed is a real damage property, but it currently has no listed corruption buildup, damage over time, explosion or life-steal effect. Judge Purple Gold by the finished weapon values you can see, not by what the word ‘Cursed’ sounds like.

01

WHAT TO DO

What Purple Gold changes on a weapon

Purple Gold used on a striking component adds Cursed to that component’s damage. Its hardness is 0.1, so the material can also change the base result through the normal material calculation. The property and the hardness effect are separate facts.

None of the 40 monsters currently listed has a Cursed-specific multiplier. Against those monsters, Cursed does not provide an extra target bonus beyond the finished weapon values shown on the page.

02

WHAT TO DO

Armour resistance does not increase weapon damage

Purple Gold armour’s Static ×0.4 and Lacerating ×1.5 values describe incoming damage when that armour material resistance applies. They are not Cursed attack multipliers and do not make a Purple Gold weapon deal those values.

When comparing Purple Gold weapons, ignore Static ×0.4 and Lacerating ×1.5 unless you are also choosing Purple Gold armour. For the weapon, look at its finished damage, durability, weight and Cursed property instead.

03

WHAT TO DO

Is Purple Gold worth using on this weapon?

Compare Purple Gold with another material on the same weapon design and rarity. Look at finished damage, durability, weight, crafting cost and whether the enemies you plan to fight have a matching Cursed multiplier.

For the current monster list, Cursed has no separate target multiplier. Purple Gold is still usable if its finished weapon values and crafting cost fit your build, but do not choose it expecting hidden corruption, explosions or life steal.

Build the comparison from the finished weapon, not the material name. Select the same weapon design and rarity, swap only the striking material, and compare the resulting damage, condition and recipe burden. If Purple Gold still fits the intended build, choose it for those visible results rather than for an imagined hidden curse effect.

BEFORE THE NEXT RUN

Check these four things before you leave

  1. Confirm Purple Gold is on the striking component.
  2. Compare the finished weapon with another material.
  3. Use Static and Lacerating resistance only for armour.
  4. Do not expect corruption, explosions or life steal.

One last check before you leave

Check inventory counts, remaining durability, learned recipes, quest progress, random spawns and whether the intended route is open. Doing this before spending materials or setting off can save a wasted trip.
