ITEM SOURCES
Where can I find a missing crafting or quest item?
Check recipes and quest rewards first. If neither works, follow possible drops and mapped containers, but prepare to search more than one random source.

QUICK ANSWER
Open the item record and identify the source type before travelling to a location.
The same source panel can contain crafting methods, quest rewards, possible monster drops and mapped container candidates. Each relationship answers a different question and carries a different certainty.
WHAT TO DO
Classify the source before planning the run
A crafting method gives a repeatable dependency chain when the recipe and facility are available. A task reward is tied to completion. A possible monster drop only identifies an eligible source, and a mapped random container identifies a candidate location rather than a guaranteed item.
Choose the most reliable route first. If a quest reward or recipe is blocked, note the exact requirement. Check random sources when they also serve another goal, or when no fixed route is available.

A possible source may still be empty
A container candidate can fail in two ways: the container may not appear, or it may appear without the target item. A possible monster drop also lacks a guaranteed chance unless the page explicitly provides one.
A place mentioned by several players can be worth checking, but it is still only a lead until the item page shows a fixed source. Plan a route that can visit several candidates instead of betting the whole run on one report.

Use map links to search an area, not a pixel
When a supported source has a map location, open it directly from the item page. Read the named module, nearby landmark and whether the floor is confirmed. Keep a return landmark and extraction plan while checking several candidates.
If the item page says unlocated or random, search the named area and nearby eligible containers instead of expecting one exact pin. Use the room, floor and landmarks to keep the search manageable.
Plan the search as a group of compatible stops. A route that visits several possible containers, a quest location and a known exit is still useful when the target item does not appear. Carry the required materials or keys, and set a stopping point so one missing random item does not turn the entire run into an unplanned gamble.

Check these four things before you leave
- Identify recipe, reward, drop or container.
- Prefer deterministic sources when available.
- Treat random points as candidates, not promises.
- Pair the search with a return plan.
One last check before you leave
Check inventory counts, remaining durability, learned recipes, quest progress, random spawns and whether the intended route is open. Doing this before spending materials or setting off can save a wasted trip.
