QUESTS & CONTACTS
How do I tell objectives, issued items and rewards apart?
Read each objective separately, distinguish items issued on acceptance from completion rewards and follow prerequisites through the contact’s task chain.

QUICK ANSWER
Finding or receiving the named item is not the whole quest unless every listed objective is complete.
Task pages separate prerequisites, objectives, acceptance items and completion rewards. They also link contacts, destination records and following tasks so the player can see why an item appeared and what advances next.
WHAT TO DO
Read the task as a sequence of objectives
A task can require entering a location, acquiring items, handing them over and returning to a contact as separate checks. Completing the collection line does not automatically prove the handover or location line is finished.
Marcher’s Burden I is a useful pattern: entering its location, acquiring two Brigade Standards and handing over two standards are separate objectives. Check the individual state and whether Marcher’s Burden II becomes available.

Separate acceptance items from rewards
An item issued when accepting a task is preparation, not proof that the task has already rewarded you. Mud And Fog I’s chain illustrates the difference: its related starting flow can issue Pack Frame, Small Lantern and Torch, while completion rewards list Bedroll, Boots, Flat Helmet and Gambeson.
Open the exact task page before selling or discarding an unfamiliar object. A quest item can share visual or economic traits with ordinary loot while serving a different objective role.

Follow prerequisites and the next task
The task page lists known prerequisites and following tasks. If the expected next step is absent, check every current objective and contact before assuming another random item must be found.
If completed objectives reset or the chain fails to advance despite the listed requirements, keep that as a possible live issue. Static requirements do not establish the cause or a recovery method for a reported reset.
Before the next expedition, turn only the unresolved objective into a packing or route decision. If the page asks for two items, reserve two carried slots or the required stack space; if it asks for a location or contact, open that record and identify the landmark. This prevents completed steps from becoming unnecessary repeat work.

Check these four things before you leave
- Check every objective separately.
- Distinguish acceptance items from rewards.
- Follow prerequisite and next-task links.
- Treat unexplained resets as unresolved live issues.
One last check before you leave
Check inventory counts, remaining durability, learned recipes, quest progress, random spawns and whether the intended route is open. Doing this before spending materials or setting off can save a wasted trip.
