QUICK ANSWER

Do not carry a tool only because its name matches the action; read the interaction prompt first.

Shovel and Pickaxe are assembled melee weapons with parts, recipes and combat values. Carrying one does not automatically unlock every digging, mining or breaching point; the prompt at that location tells you what is required.

01

WHAT TO DO

Treat the shovel and pickaxe as weapons first

The Shovel and Pickaxe use striking components such as Shovel Head and Pickaxe Head. Their item pages help you choose compatible parts and materials, find the recipe and compare attack values.

A world interaction has its own prompt and conditions. The fact that an item can strike an enemy or be crafted at a facility does not prove it is consumed, checked or even accepted by a mining node, loose ground or damaged door.

02

WHAT TO DO

Check skill availability separately

Some skill-tree nodes refer to mining, digging or breaching, but nodes marked unavailable in the Demo cannot be treated as a guaranteed interaction unlock. A node name can describe intended design without proving current playability.

Open the skill tree, select the exact node and check whether it is available, what it requires and what it changes. Owning a tool in the inventory does not replace a locked skill.

03

WHAT TO DO

Read the prompt before bringing extra tools

Approach the interaction point and read the prompt before buying, crafting or carrying extra weight for a guessed requirement. If it names an item, skill or action, prepare that exact condition. If it does not, do not add a requirement just because the scenery looks diggable or breakable.

There is not yet one complete list of every Demo interaction and its required tool. Before adding extra weight to your loadout, visit the target once, read the prompt and note the exact requirement.

If the prompt requires a tool, note the exact item name, whether it is consumed and what the interaction gives you. Use that answer for this specific location rather than assuming the same tool is required everywhere.

BEFORE THE NEXT RUN

Check these four things before you leave

  1. Read the item as equipment first.
  2. Check the exact skill’s availability.
  3. Read the live interaction prompt.
  4. Do not carry guessed requirements by name alone.

One last check before you leave

Check inventory counts, remaining durability, learned recipes, quest progress, random spawns and whether the intended route is open. Doing this before spending materials or setting off can save a wasted trip.
