What is the shortest crafting checklist for an Alembic?
The Workbench recipe needs 1 Copper Ingot and 1 Glass Globe for 1 Alembic, with no additional tool in that final step. If you still need to make the Glass Globe, it requires 8 Limestone Chalk, a Crucible and Crucible Tongs at the Forge. Check for a ready-made globe before preparing that extra chain.
The Loot sources section also lists possible Alchemist locker sources for a finished Alembic in Catacomb Ruins. Those are alternatives to preparing every ingredient, not guaranteed drops.
Does an Alembic only make medicines?
It also supports material recipes. At the Alchemy Alcove, 1 Birch Log makes 1 Tar, while 2 Resin make 1 Pitch; both list an Alembic as their tool. The Used as tool section below lists the remaining recipes, including medicines and dyes, so choose a target before collecting its ingredients.
